About Us

Association Football is the world game and a huge percentage of the world’s population is involved in the sport, but in England, 95% of football is played, watched and administered at Non-League level.

Without the pressures and influence of big money, non-league players, coaches, supporters and administrators all become deeply involved with their own little clubs. The spirit, fun and satisfaction experienced will be remembered for ever, and the battle to cope with success and disappointment gracefully will be appreciated in the years ahead.

I’ve been incredibly lucky to have been involved with football since I first realised it meant something special to me at the age of seven. Having played, coached, managed, served as a director and enjoyed writing, editing and publishing football publications, I do realise that I am one of the very few people to have had so much satisfaction and fun from life.

My son Michael, who is still playing and, as General Manager at Loddiswell Athletic Football Club in Devon, is using all the experience he enjoyed when working as Publications Manager at Coventry City, has helped all our publications to develop over the last twenty years.

‘Team Talk’ magazine was enjoyed for over ten years and of course our ‘Non-League Club Directory’ was launched as a little pocket book in 1977. Now, as we see the development of some wonderful sporting websites, we have realised that our own collection of non-league publications, photos and statistics must be second to none and will be used to give a unique review of the last 35 years including the present day competitions.

We aim to develop ‘The Non-League Club Directory Website‘ to highlight our clubs and competitions within the true spirit, comradeship and sheer love of the game enjoyed by millions. We have recently published our 35th annual publication and your suggestions, ideas, information or contributions will be welcome as we look forward to developing our service to Non-League Football.

About This Site

Over the last 35 years of publishing the Directory we have built up a huge archive of information and photographs of the clubs featured. It is hoped that through this site, memories of great seasons and of past players will be brought back.

The table charting each club’s league record over the past three decades or so includes the leagues played in, the position they finished and the name of the Manager who started that particular season at the club. Click on a year (highlighted in green if active) and further details such as a team photograph can be seen.

It is very much a work in progress and every day more and more information will be added to the site with new features planned for the new year. We very much want your participation in this site so if you have any memories you’d like to add please get in touch. Or if you can help fill in any gaps, such as a team caption for those photographs without the players names, again we would love to hear from you.

We Want to Hear From You!
