AFC Bridgnorth

Originally formed just after the Second World War, Bridgnorth Town emerged after the amalgamation of local town clubs and first competed in The Worcestershire Combination. followed by a successful period inThe Midland Combination. However, after winning the Championship in 1983, thirteen years were enjoyed in The Southern League although only two top ten finishes were achieved.

Ken Jones gave nine years service as manager but when relegated to The Midland Alliance in 1996, Ian Britton was manager in their two well contested seasons at this level but the coming and going of managers and managerial partnerships in the new century was extremely difficult to record.

To say the least, the club gave the impression of instability and just as a championship winning side in The West Midlands League took the club back to The Midland Alliance in 2008, the club appeared to be steadily improving.

Sadly however, it was announced at the end of the 2012-2013 season that Bridgnorth Town was being placed in insolvency, and the club would play as AFC Bridgnorth in the West Midlands (Regional) League in the 2113-2014 season.
