AFC Fylde

Who would have thought that little Kirkham & Wesham Football Club, modestly competing for nineteen years in the West Lancs Football League, would soon be competing amongst the best non-league clubs in the North of England ?

They developed into the ‘bully’ of the League at the turn of the century and won the championship every season except one, until they were ready and acceptable for promotion to the North West Counties League in 2007.

Runners-Up position and FA Vase winners in 2007-2008 encouraged a change of name to AFC Fylde and the club have continued to rise. Long serving successful manager Mick Fuller saw the club safely into Northern Premier League as champions of the North West Counties, but handed over to Kelham O’Hanlen to build a challenge for NPL Premier, which was achieved in 2012.

Reaching the Play-Offs in 2012- 2013 indicated continued progress and having achieved nine championships in fourteen seasons, just how far can they go?
