Crawley Down Gatwick

Altrincham Club Crest image

The football club formed as Crawley Down Village after the merger of local teams in 1993 quickly established themselves in non-league football’s Step 4.  Originally playing in the Sussex Division Three, the club dropped the ‘village’ title in 1999 having moved up to Division Two where they achieved a third place finish.

With many managerial changes, the club took time to settle at this level but with regular cup runs to boost confidence and lift club morale, ‘The Anvils’ achieved promotion from third place in 2009 and in their second season in Division One manager Darren Guirey proudly took his squad into the Isthmian League.

The club had taken just seventeen seasons to reach this level and taking up their biggest challenge under the new title of Crawley Down Gatwick FC. they have settled down very well.
