Deal Town

Currently Playing In:

Kent League Premier Division

A Kent club that has spent most of its life competing in county competitions, originally played in the Kent League for its first 50 years and then joined the Aetolian League in 1948 for a four year spell.

Joining The Southern League in 1963, the club sadly didn’t progress and dropped back to The Greater London League three years later. In 1971 Deal Town joined the county league and have been a loyal member ever since.

A good twelve year spell was enjoyed in the league from 1989 when they experienced just two finishes outside the top eight, with great celebrations in 2000 as the Championship was won under guidance of manager Tommy Sampson. Indeed this was the club’s special   year as the FA Vase was won at Wembley by beating Chippenham Town 1-0 in front of 20,000.

Sadly, form in the Kent League has not been outstanding since the ‘golden year,’ but long serving manager Derek Hares has kept the club safely in mid table and Deal Town is building for another special period in its history.
