The very impressive and indeed very successful policy at Farnborough Town between 1978 and 2003 was based on the fact that the club only employed three managers. Not only were four Championships won, but the club also qualified for the FA Cup First Round fourteen times, plus a Third Round replay against West Ham United and a Fourth Round appearance against Arsenal at Highbury.

Ted Pearce , Alan Taylor and Graham Westley were the three who took charge in a memorable period for the club but sadly finance and politics appeared to have caused all sorts of problems by 2007 and the club reformed and started again in The Southern League Division One South & West as Farnborough F.C.

The club’s last four years in their previous ‘life‘ were marshalled by four different managers and as Farnborough FC,  four more managers looked after the club’s excellent progress on the field. Despite losing two play-offs, promotion was gained firstly to The Southern Premier and then back to Blue Square South and although the club will take time to settle, the fans have been used to excitement and probably enjoyed it as long as there were happy endings.
