Halesowen Town were founded in 1873 and have always played at The Grove in Old Hawes Lane. The club originally competed in The Birmingham & District League but had an important spell in The Birmingham Combination from 1911 until 1939 before returning to their original competition after the war.

In 1986 ‘The Yeltz’ qualified for a move to The Southern League and after four years moved up to the Premier Division where they remained until 2011 apart from two one year visits to The Western Division.

Season 1981-1982 was the start of a magnificent nine years of the club’s history under Paddy Page’s influence, in which they enjoyed three F.A.Vase Finals (two victories), seven consecutive appearances in the F.A.First Round plus successes in The Birmingham and The Staffordshire Senior Cups.

Sadly, promotion was just missed in The Play-Offs in 2008 and three years later Halesowen where relegated. Financial troubles off the field were heartbreaking for the loyal supporters, but one season in Southern Division One was followed by a change to The Northern Premier League Division One, where supporters will hope the change will give the club a new challenge to move back up the pyramid.
