‘The Brakes’ have supplied the nearest there is to a ‘fairy story’ in football. As a founder member of the Football Alliance in 1979, AP Leamington were on the crest of a wave, but they lost their place at the top of the pyramid after three seasons. Just six seasons later the Leamington club had folded, leaving a distraught set of loyal supporters.

A dedicated rebuilding exercise took twelve years and a great deal of expertise, effort and money to produce a football club with a home in which they could once again make the local supporters proud.

The club still appears to be on ‘a high’ as they steadily re-build. After five consecutive seasons at the beginning of the century finishing in the top three of the Midland Combination, promotion was gained with a ground to match. Two more seasons and another championship, brought Southern League football back to Leamington and another step up was made in 2009, when Southern League Premier Division membership was earned.

The new Leamington FC has competed for thirteen seasons, finishing below fifth place just once.Their fourth championship was won in the 2012-2013 campaign, taking them into Conference North and an exciting FA Cup run to The First Round was enjoyed in 2005-2006. Congratulations to one and all. Where will it end?
