One of the oldest football clubs in the home counties, Southall were formed in 1871 and played their first competitive league football in The West London League in 1896. A short spell as a professional club in the Southern League wasn’t a success, but a merger with Southall Athletic led to a place in the Great Western Suburban League

In 1919 Southall joined The Athenian League where they competed until becoming founder members of The Isthmian league’s Division Two in the 1973-1974 season.
Within two years the club was qualified for the Premier Division and changed their name to Southall & Ealing Borough.

However, this was not a lucky omen. After two quick relegations the club reverted to Southall Football Club and for the majority of the next twenty one seasons competed, mostly in the third tier of The Isthmian League and sadly lost the use of their Western Road ground.

When relegation saw the club drop into The Combined Counties League, there was a chance of rebuilding but financial problems soon caused the club to resign.

A rebirth in The Middlesex County League with new owners gave the club hope and now that they are competing in The Spartan South Midlands League, Southall will be hoping to once again be challenging for honours.
