FA CUP - First Qualifying Round

15 September 2014

So the visit of Hereford United, a club who have their own great cup fighting memories, must have thrilled everyone involved with Ellistown & Ibstock of the East Midlands Premier League. To be realistic, the modern Hereford United is a very sad shadow of their great predecessors.

However, a sparkling 3-2 victory, underlined by their goalkeeper’s late penalty save, all added up to another wonderful FA Cup story that gave everyone at the East Midlands club an inspiration that will do wonders for the future of the club.

With nearly a quarter of the cup ties drawn, the efforts of away sides may show their determination to earn home replays, but on FA Cup Saturday, Uxbridge made the most of their visit to Bedfont & Feltham with a 6-0 victory and Lancaster City won 5-0 at West Allotment Celtic.
