NATIONAL STRIKE FORCE - After Tuesday night’s action

09 April 2014

The race to finish top non-league scorer for the season is extremely close!
Leon Mettam (Worksop Town) and Ben Mackey (Hemel Hempstead Town) have scored 89 goals between them this season with the Northern Premier League representative just five ahead of his Southern League challenger
Cambridge City’s ace striker Adam Marriott scored in nine consecutive games recently, which takes over as this season’s best scoring run, previously held by Charlie Moone, who scored in eight games for Hampton & Richmond Borough between December 7th and the 21st January.

Two possible challengers are Stefan Brown (Hungerford Town) and Leon Mattam who have both scored in their last seven games.

Sam Madeley of desperate Droylsden, a club suffering from a really difficult season, has scored five in his clubs last three games, although all were lost with a goal difference of 5-19!

Grimsby Town, challenging for a play off place in the Conference Premier, have scored in their last fifteen games but in twelve of them have just managed a single goal.

Stockport County have failed to score in six of their last seven games
but in the match they drew 3-3, Phil Jeavons scored a hat trick!

In contrast, Burnham have scored in their last eleven games but have won only one of them.
