National Strikeforce

Spare a thought for Chesham United supporters

05 March 2014

They certainly see plenty of goals with their favourites crashing in another 20, while celebrating five victories in their last five league games.  But their club is still five points and 20 goals behind Hemel Hempstead Town.

Chesham United’s three leading goalscorers Drew Roberts (30 goals), Chris Dillon (19) and James Potton (16) have a wonderful total of 65 goals, which one would imagine to be the best in senior non-league football, but Worksop Town’s three leading strikers have scored 15 more.

Surely Chesham United’s great season deserves to be eventually rewarded with promotion.

But can Lewes supporters believe their eyes?
Imagine the odds against Lewes Football Club, who had failed to win one of their last eight league games, beating the top two Isthmian Premier League clubs, Dulwich Hamlet and Maidstone United, without conceding a single goal to either of them!
